The following are some of the many fun things to do in the SCA. It includes the various Offices, how to get them, and a basic definition of the work involved. They are in no particular order so please don't assume anything by the order I have them in. I typed them in as they came to mind. All offices (major and minor) and their officers work in harmony to keep the group(s) running smoothly. This section is still under construction as I'm gathering and adding new information all the time. If you have any suggestions please e-mail me and I will add them.

There are Two main category's of Herald: The first, (and the one that most people familiar with,) Are the Voice Heralds; The Second, are the Book Heralds. These divide down into still smaller or sub-category's. Though, it is more common in this area to just divide
into voice or book heraldry. There a lot of heralds that do both or elements of both. For example, some might do, Reports and Voice, or just Court, or any other combination.
Voice Herald (general) Voice Heralds are the loudmouths of the group. If you like to make yourself heard this is just the job for you. There are three basic subcatagories of Voice Herald; 1) Court Herald,
2) Tourney & 3) Camp criers.
Court Herald (voice) COURT heralds, are the ones that are the voice of the Royals, during Court. They announce the Royals as they come in, and call people forward during court.
Tournament Herald (voice) TOURNEY heralds, are the ones that announce or calling forward, the persons that are competing in the Tournament.
Camp Crier (voice) CAMP CRIERS, do just that, they cry the camp at camping events (and are Vary appreciated by the chief herald.)
Book Herald (general) Book Heralds get all the paperwork. There are also three basic subcatagories; 1) Names
2) Devices & 3) Report Heralds. With Book heralds, most do both names and devices.  But
some do specialize in one or the other. Basically they look for conflicts. For example, you like snowflakes and really want them as part of your device. The book heralds will do their research and discover that there is no such thing heraldically but with a little imagination......
